Hello! So here I am after a great weekend with Sabrina (Spencer's sister) and Lucas (Sabrina's boyfriend). It was very nice to visit with them, and it was totally cool that they came all the way up here. They arrived on Friday with a whole bunch of groceries for us too, which we also appreciate very much! On Saturday we went for a boat ride and then walked the shore a bit. We actually went a long ways-- three beaches with two rocky areas in between. It was a good way to spend the afternoon. I like this picture because we all look good, and also because of Max. What a crackup.

The weather cooperated for the weekend, which was good too. We only were sprinkled on once or twice. On Sunday morning we toured the marine lab and boardwalk, and then we spent the afternoon cooking in preparation for dinner, because it was Canadian Thanksgiving! I made stuffed mushrooms and deviled eggs, Sabrina made pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, and Spencer made a corn casserole and mashed potatoes. Dinner was just upstairs, which is always a convenient place to go to a party. The party was huge! There were 35 people there, which is almost everyone in our peer group in town (some people went elsewhere to visit their relatives for the weekend). All of the food was amazing and delicious.

Sabrina and Lucas had to head back down south yesterday morning, but they made it out of the logging roads and back to the ferry on time as planned, which was much better than Sabrina's last experience leaving here. They helped us on their way back home too, by taking a bunch of our extra stuff with them. We sent about four tubs and three bags with them, which was great. That helped us out a lot for getting ready to move away from here.

There isn't much other news from here. I started a new baby hat this weekend and I'm hosting knitting night with the ladies tomorrow night. That should be fun. I'm also looking forward to the mushroom festival, which is on Saturday.

Anyhow, I put up some photos from the weekend in my gallery for you all to see, so check that out if you'd like! I hope you all are well...
