Last night we went to the community meeting, which was its normal mix of somewhat interesting business and somewhat boring business. We were helped through because we thought to take a thermos of hot chocolate (or chocolat chaud, as it's known here) with us. Something weird happened on our way home though. We were canoeing down the inlet, and it was dark (though we could see the mountains in the moonlight and they looked super cool), and then some animal made an awful sound from the bushes or trees. I was kinda freaked out. It's not like we were in danger or anything, since we were in the water, and it was probably just a bird, but it was a totally freaky noise that neither of us had heard before, and we couldn't tell what it was. It sounded like a mammal, but it wasn't really a roaring sound, or a cougar sound. I decided in the end that it must have been a sasquatch, and I wouldn't mind never hearing it again.
Tomorrow we're going to town. I called the recycling center to find out their hours, and had a 20-minute long conversation with the lady there who was very keen to talk. That was kindof interesting. We have lots to do in town tomorrow, and I'm particularly excited to get some groceries.
The weather was super nice the last couple of days, and I went out for a big walk with Max Power this weekend. I've updated my photos about two days ago (here), if you'd like to see some new ones, and here's one more, of me, reflected in the water.
