Our third niece was born yesterday. Her name is Liv Cora Thompson, she was born at 11:16 a.m., and she weighed 8 lbs. 8 oz. She has lots of dark hair, and she looks a bit like Mae. They both are cuties. My parents and I hung out with Mae for the morning while Mary was in labor, and that was fun too. We came back to Seattle in the evening, and it made for a long day, but it's good to be home finally.

Before that, our trip to Newport was pretty great as well. It was really nice to be there. My meeting at Hatfield was interesting and it was cool to meet those people. Many of them are people who I had worked with before or communicated with but just had never met them in person, so it was good to finally meet them. Impressively, for this meeting we were put up in an ocean-front hotel room. The weather was nice while we were there, and on the last morning (before it got windy) I got to for a walk with Max on the beach. That sort of thing is good for your soul. We also were able to do some good eating and drinking there, which was awesome. Here is my plug for Arr Place. They make some of the most amazing food, and the atmosphere there is wonderful. It's the best place to eat on the Oregon Coast, hands down. Both evenings we were there we got to see Sabrina, who came out to visit us, and Lucas and Charlotte also came on the second day. That was also great! So really, it was a very good couple of days, all around.
