Hello! I just wanted to drop a quick note here while I have some tea. After I have some tea, I have to get back to PACKING! Crazy. We are packing up our life here and leaving on Saturday. We were planning on leaving on Sunday, but the weather is supposed to be bad that day. Moving our date ahead one day is not a good thing in terms of comfortably getting everything done, but that's what we have to do. You can't really argue with impassable roads.
Last night we went to a Christmas party, which was fun, and then after that we did our recycling. The town recycling depot is going to open next spring (about a year late) so our recycling has been building up and building up because we were waiting for it. We can wait no more! Last night, like the green rebels we are, we took it all in the middle of the night to the marine station and put it in their bins! Ha!
As those of you in Oregon know, it's been very cold lately! Spencer and I went out on the shore this morning to take out some of his plot markers. The wind was blowing from the north. I wore just about all of my clothes, and a nice balaclava to cover my face. I was warm enough for the most part, depending on what I was doing and how much the wind was blowing. Coming soon is a photo.... Anyhow, it was very cold out there and I'm happy to be inside now. First thing was Mr. Noodles (i.e. Ramen) for lunch, since it's easy, fast, and warm. Then warmed leftover cake. Now tea. Then after tea I have to pack some more stuff and get to cleaning.
Oh, and one other thing of note happened while we were out there. I was trying to get a screw out of the rock, and in the process some grit and stuff flew up in my face and I got something in my eye. Spencer had to help get it out. Wanna guess what it was? It was a baby mussel! I had a mussel in my eye. That is definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Looks like my tea is about done, so here I go. I don't know when I'll write next, but I'll see many of you in just a couple of days! Ok see you later!
