Hello! I have the day off today. I have worked every day since Tuesday last week, so it's nice to not have to get up and leave here today. It's been a bit of a change to go everyday, since before I was very much NOT going everyday. The experiment I was working on is over, though we'll be starting a new one next week. I have big plans for this weekend, to knit, make cookies, walk to the beach, go to the store, and make a tasty dinner and whatnot.

I had a pretty good day yesterday though! It was a day of news. Most of the news was good, though I had some news that wasn't so good. Out of respect of privacy, I'm not going to talk about the news that wasn't the best. But the other news was that I got some tickets to see Dave Matthews have a discussion with the Dalai Lama, and then a concert with Tim Reynolds, which I'm very excited about. I put in for tickets, but didn't think I would get any. I was very surprised and happy to have gotten some.

I also got news yesterday that I've been accepted for a job! A real job! I got a job with the scientist in charge of a group in the Bay Area, who work on studies about effects of fishing, coastal development, climate change, and the like, on marine ecosystems. My job will be to manage the data and prepare reports for the senior scientists who will be analyzing data and writing papers. I'm very excited about it. Nope, we're not moving, though this job is a longer-term one for me. It will be for at least the next couple of years, and at least at first, we will stay right where we are and I'll work remotely via the internet. Spencer and I think this is great. I start at the first of March.

That's my good news.

I hope you all are doing well. I'll write more again soon!

Sarah Ann! I am super excited about your barnacle sex video. I NEED a copy to use in my classroom (bc that site is blocked). Carry on seaweed queen.
