We had some snow a couple of days ago. It hung around for about a day and a half before melting, and now it's very rainy. Yuck. The waves are up too, so Spencer is still having a hard time getting out onto the shore for his outside work.
I took my new big camera to the beach the other day to take some photos. Max and I got there at exactly high tide, which means we couldn't even step onto the beach because the water was so high! I sat on a bench at the end of the trail and took a couple of photos from there. The camera is fast, and cool. Here is my favorite photo from that time. But since we didn't get to play on the beach, Max didn't think that that trip down was very much fun... :(
Speaking of Max, he's been enjoying his new bed. We put it in his basket in the living room, since it fits much better than his old square bed (we left that one in the bedroom). Last night he elected to sleep out there in the cold on his poofy bed in the basket, but lo and behold when Spencer got up this morning, Max was on the couch. Bad dog! Looks like he'll be directed to sleep in the bedroom with us again.
I also bought Max a couple of stuffed animals at a thrift store when we were in Oregon, and he likes those a lot too. He tore the eyes off of them first, and then pulls the stuffing out of them when he plays. So we have duck and cookie monster brains on the floor much of the time, but then Spencer will pick it up and stuff it back into them.... Max is funny.
For those of you out there with ice cream machines, I made a grapefruit sorbet yesterday, and I don't recommend it. It's pretty weird, and kinda gross. It was also very labor-intensive, because I had to remove the juicy fruit parts from the rind as well as the membranes that separate the wedges... Then it didn't end up tasting anything like how I was expecting it to. Bummer.
I think that's all I have to say for now. I hope that you're all well and that the weather isn't treating you too terribly! Cheers!
